Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme: Building a Sustainable Future

SRES is an Australian Government scheme designed to encourage the production of renewable energy at a small level. The program works around tradable certificates called small-scale technology certificates (STCs). Most of the households and businesses in Australia qualify for these STCs and are entitled to a subsidy for installing these renewable energy technologies.

Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme: Building a Sustainable Future

As part of the Renewable Energy Target, LRET encourages investment in renewable energy production by providing financial incentives for doing so and establishing a market for creating and selling large-scale generation certificates (LGC). These LGCs represent the amount of energy being produced by renewable energy production facilities. 1 LGC equals 1 megawatt-hour (MWh) of renewable energy.

Energy Saving Scheme: Maximizing Savings with Energy-Efficient Appliances

Established in 2009 under the NSW Electricity Supply Act 1995, ESS is NSW’s largest energy efficiency program. Under this scheme, households and businesses are provided financial incentives to upgrade their appliances and equipment, to enhance their efficiency. Designed to run until 2050, this program has financed multiple projects which will deliver 48,000 GWh of energy savings by 2033.
